This gentleman just followed me on Twitter. I must say, he has the most impressive Twitter profile I’ve seen. The only thing missing is “President” and “Medical Doctor”…
I’m not sure if Daniel is trying this for SEO, Internet marketing, or other optimization purposes. But I’m having a hard time pinpointing what exactly is his job, and I can’t help but to be skeptical of all he does.
I was surprised to see Daniel’s stats. He’s listed 340+ times as of today:
Typically you only get listed if you convince someone else you provide value of some kind. So I’ve got to hand it to Daniel’s Twitter following / optimization strategy. His profile might be somewhat sketchy, but he has been able to do quite a bit, regardless.
Daniel if you’re out there, feel free to comment on your strategy and results.

Today I received a Foursquare invitation to connect with Eko.
I don’t know any Eko’s, let alone from Indonesia. The guy has 0 check-ins, 0 night outs, and yet has more than 1,100 friends. I’m sure that you would also think Eko is not your old pal who wants to connect so you can get together for beer.
This is what I was talking about in my previous post “How I use Foursquare“. Too many people are way to careless with the information they share with strangers.
After all, Foursquare is a service for telling people where you are!
Here’s a screenshot of the Email invitation I got from Eko: (more…)

They're watching, everyone's watching!
This post I wrote two weeks ago while coming back from a family trip in Boston.
I’m sitting at a bar at Boston Logan airport waiting for my flight to Vancouver. My trip is over.
Ironically, now I feel safe sharing some thoughts about the trip that just happened. The first thought that comes to mind is how social media has made me share less about a trip this time – the irony.
Lately I’ve been getting an unusual amount of Foursquare* request to connect with people. Most of the people sending the requests, unfortunately, will find that I’m ignoring it.
That’s probably because either I don’t know you well enough, or I don’t recognize your user name.
So before you go sending me or anyone else a Foursquare invitation, here’s my thoughts and personal guidelines for using Foursquare.
Last week I used Mailchimp, a popular email service provider, to send a newsletter-type email to the Vancouver SEM Meetup group.
This idea came about while thinking a better way to communicate with the group’s members. Mailchimp offers pre-designed formatting, tracks clicks, opens, and a ton of other information I thought I could take advantage of… Here’s what happened. (more…)
Vancouver SEMs have a new Ning community to ask and answer questions, exchange ideas, and network online: http://vancouversem.ning.com.
Following the success of the Vancouver SEM Meetup Group we would like to invite all of you SEMs, SEOs, PPCs (can you PPCs?) and those who have questions about the topic to join and participate.
The Ning site is being spear headed by Ani Lopez, a Spaniard SEO who recently made the move to Vancouver.
On that note, Ani made a fantastic work making connection and making as smooth of a transition as possible using social media. You can read about his experience on his blog.
Something's wrong with Twitter.
I made the move and switched names. But little did I know that Twitter users are having problems switching account settings, usernames in particular.
Now I can only sign in with my email, but when I do the username reverts to the old one. If I click “home” to post an update it takes me to the new account with the old username.
This also means I can’t use Tweetdeck (desktop), or UberTwitter (mobile) – big problem. On top of that, when I sign in it reverts my changes (see bellow).

Changed my Twitter Username to @joseuonline!
In Twitter, Jose Uzcategui was @jose_u until today. From now on you can find me on Twitter at @joseuonline.
I know, switching names is a last resort. This will definitely will make a dent in my Twitter history. But this change was coming sooner or later for me. Plus, in internet time no one will remember the change in a few months.
But I have my reasons, here are the main ones:
Today I came across this list of Popular Twitter Clients on my printed copy of websitemagazine.com. I thought you might find it interesting.
(Today is October 20th, 2009)
Rank – Client – % of Users
Blogging for money… To be honest, the reason why I started this blog was to brand myself, share ideas, offer Internet marketing services and fool myself that millions of people are secretly reading and admiring what I say. The thought of making money from this blog never fueled it, but has always been there.
