Changed my Twitter Username to @joseuonline!
In Twitter, Jose Uzcategui was @jose_u until today. From now on you can find me on Twitter at @joseuonline.
I know, switching names is a last resort. This will definitely will make a dent in my Twitter history. But this change was coming sooner or later for me. Plus, in internet time no one will remember the change in a few months.
But I have my reasons, here are the main ones:

How do you compare the absolute first?
A friend of mine, let’s call him Rick, just shared a little dilemma with me – and then with you. Rick is dealing with a difficult client and wants your opinion.
Rick is the Digital Media Manager at Kroxxi (made up name). His client is a heath care provider in the U.S. who just spent $500,000 on a three-month campaign to increase their online exposure.
This week was my second time at the Net Tuesday Meetup, a popular meetup for “social media and Web innovators.” Net Tuesday might be one of the best meetups to learn about social media in Vancouver, from the basics to the nerdy.

Here’s how to set it up so you can track your shortened clicks usign twurl.com, regardless whether you shorten them at the site or through an application like TweetDeck or Twirl: (more…)
Here’s an interesting situation brought to me by my good friend, Jane Doe. She’s an academic pursuing a PhD in political philosophy by day and going after a dancing hobby by night.
Jane wants to start using social media for both;
(a) to follow other academics and help build his reputation as a political philosopher and
(b) to grow her network of salsa friends and build his reputation as a good dancer.
BUT, here’s the problem: (more…)
A common mistake most of us make when joining Twitter is using twitter.com. Then we discover applications like TweetDeck, go “aaaahhhh,” and start funneling tweets into groups.
I’ve thought of a few ways to organize these groups – numbered (1,2,3,4); US threat-style colours (green, orange, red); descriptive (close friends, news, hot bloggers) - and wonder what people do out there. (more…)
