How do you compare the absolute first?

How do you compare the absolute first?

A friend of mine, let’s call him Rick, just shared a little dilemma with me – and then with you. Rick is dealing with a difficult client and wants your opinion.

Rick is the Digital Media Manager at Kroxxi (made up name). His client is a heath care provider in the U.S. who just spent $500,000 on a three-month campaign to increase their online exposure.

hiddenperson

I tried to hide, but it didn't work.

Privacy is one of the most popular counter arguments to social media.  Your location and current activities are indeed very private pieces of information we might not always want to share.

But what about the times you want to conceal just part of it all? For example, here I am in Boston. On one side wanting to engage with everyone and on the other not wanting to reveal I am not in Vancouver. (Don’t get used to it though, I’m probably in Vancouver as you read this.). We need free wi-fi!

We need free wi-fi!

Don’t you think that by now free wi-fi should be like public bathrooms?

I mean, not having free wi-fi is already a liability for most places. Can you believe I’m sitting at Toronto Pearson Freakin’ International Airport and there’s no free wi-fi? As usual, you have to connect through any of the paid services that end up costing around $10 a day. Ridiculous.

Hotels? Unless you’re looking to get away from it all, not having free Internet connection is enough reason for most of us to book elsewhere.

He probably erased imporatant code too.

Last night I copied a line of code into the WordPress editor, hit “Update” and *POOF* Everything bellow the line of code I just copied disappeared! What the F*%&?!

If before you knew of someone who heard about someone who erased some code… now you know that someone: me. Here’s my story.

I take a look at the screen, I don’t see the code. I stand up and take a couple of steps back; perhaps I’m reading something wrong? I come back to my seat. No. It’s clear. The code has been erased. I look for the backup I usually have. What?! I have backed every file I’ve worked with, except this one.

Is my heart beating? Breathe. Relax. We can fix it.
